Emptiness:
That gentle dragon
Who invades the heart and soul.
Not wanting anything itself,
It idly grazes in the flowerbed of dreams,
Consuming first the pedals of desire
And, finally, the stem of hope,
Leaving naught but dying roots
Of deep despair.
It lives in darkness
And it thrives on loneliness,
But flees when overcome
By light and love from God.
